Cries of 'Lies' Greet Plan for High-Rises in the U District

Citizens protested Monday when Seattle Mayor Ed Murray laid out his proposal to upzone the center of the University District, where towers up to 320 feet tall would be allowed around the future light rail station on Brooklyn Avenue Northesast. That's nearly four times taller than what is currently allowed.

Monday's rowdy press conference was the culmination of five years of planning by the city, UW and residents.
